During this class, students will learn how to make a miniature book using a single sheet of paper. We will discuss why we are using a single piece of paper, and brainstorm what they can make their books about. Learners will become acquainted with visual art terminology and concepts in a gentle, encouraging, and inclusive space. I use a top-down camera and walk them step by step, turning a blank sheet of printer paper into a final (and reproducible) booklet filled with their creativity....
Students will learn graphic design terminology, as well as how to construct a booklet using a single page without glue or staples. This is important so that the full page can be copied on a copy machine or scanner and reproduced multiple times.
1 file available upon enrollmentSeveral sheets of regular printer paper Any preferred drawing materials such as: pens, markers, crayons, colored pencils (Optional) A magazine that can be cut out to make collage pieces that can then be glued into pages (Optional) Glue (Optional) Printable
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
