In this 6-day art course, students will explore 6 different painting techniques, including watercolors, sponge painting, q-tips pointillism, potato stamping, and paint blowing with straws.
Class experience
We will explore 5 fun and simple painting techniques for kids. We will be focusing on the painting process rather than the outcome and hopefully, there will be lots of opportunities for kids to express themselves and spark their creativity. This class is all about kids experimenting, making their own decisions, and having fun with paint. Day 1 - Watercolor flowers (We will apply wet watercolor paint on wet paper, A.K.A. Students will improve their understanding of different painting techniques such as wet-on-wet, pointillism, stamping, and others. During the course, they will create a masterpiece using a variety of artist's tools.
*Please, try not to use print/copy paper. Sometimes children get frustrated and disappointed as it absorbs the water and gets wet and floppy* Day 1 - Watercolor paper, watercolor paints, paintbrush, water cup, pencil, black crayon. Day 2 - Watercolor paper, 7 Q-tips (cotton swabs), watercolor paints (or other kids washable paints, tempera, acrylic), pencil, water cup. Day 3 - Watercolor paper, straw, watercolor paints (or other kids washable paints, tempera), black marker, water cup. Day 4 - Watercolor paper, sponge, scissors, tempera paints (other kids washable paints), paintbrush, water cup, plastic plate to mix the colors or pallet. Day 5 - Colored paper, potato halves, paints (tempera or other washable paints), paintbrush, black marker, googly eyes (optional) Day 6 - Water-colour paper, water-colour paints, paintbrush, black marker (permanent) For each day I recommend having a washcloth, scrap paper, or paper towels nearby, as we can get messy!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
