Enhance Listening Skills: Encourage active listening by engaging children in musical activities that require them to pay attention to melodies, rhythms, and lyrics. Cultivate Aesthetic Sensibilities: Help children develop an appreciation for art and music by exploring different styles, colors, shapes, and sounds, and encouraging them to reflect on the emotions and ideas they evoke. Develop Fine Motor Skills: Engage children in art activities that involve using crayons, markers, and other art tools, helping them refine their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Nurture a Love for Art and Music: Inspire a lifelong passion for art and music by providing an engaging and enjoyable learning experience, fostering a sense of joy and curiosity in children. Encourage Self-Expression: Create a space where children feel empowered to express themselves through their artwork, music, and voice, encouraging them to share their unique perspectives and ideas.
I have been an Outschool teacher since May of 2020. I love teaching on Outschool and sharing my love of music and art with the students. I have 20+ years experience, as a music teacher. I have taught for a over a year on outschool as a piano and guitar teacher. My teaching experience includes piano, electric keyboard, guitar, and general music classes, in both the classroom and private settings. I have taught preschool music, as well as older students. My brick and mortar school teaching includes being head of the music department at a private high school in Maryland. I taught private piano and guitar lessons at a guitar shop, for 5 years, in addition to my own private students in my studio. I have a bachelor's degree in music education, from Towson University, plus graduate studies in music education.
