(Now available as a flexible class!) In this exploratory class,we will discuss and explore the process of artistic visual journaling. Each week students will be given a new prompt and be shown new methods of creating! These prompts provide some guidance while allowing students to freely reflect upon their own emotions and experiences. Students are welcome to share their creations with the class if they feel comfortable doing so. Students are also welcome to keep their creations private. I can't wait to see what you create and learn about yourself! What benefits will your child experience through artistic journaling? -A heightened ability to communicate and share ideas -Build personal identity -The space to process and identify emotions -Manage anxiety and fear of mistakes -Reduce stress -Document daily life and personal growth -Discover self-awareness -Provide space to make connections No prior experience necessary! In this class we explore, make mistakes and experiment to find creativity, self expression and peace. General Outline: -Welcome and quick introductions -Brief introduction to journaling with a demonstration of a new technique or method each week -Time to work independently, students are welcome to share and discuss ideas and their experience as they work -Closing remarks Important Reminder: To help prevent classes from being canceled, please be sure to share the classes that you are interested in with your friends and via social media! All classes have a minimum of 3 learners; therefore classes with less than 3 learners may be canceled.
Learning Goals
Students will learn various artistic journaling methods through a series of weekly prompts. These exploratory experiences will provide a multitude of holistic benefits.

Supply List
Bring any type of paper or journal. Some ideas: Sketchbook, notebook, note cards, special artist papers, stapled printer paper etc. Bring a variety of supplies: Student will have some guidance, but will also be able to make their own choices. Some ideas: Pens, crayons, Markers, old magazines or newspapers, watercolors, glue sticks, scissors, etc)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
