1-2 hours per week. I will always respond to all drawings and writing pieces submitted, although submitting any work is optional.Grading
Due to there being no rubric for this course, I do not provide numerical or letter grades; however, I will provide feedback to each drawing or writing piece that your learner chooses to submit.Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 3
✏️In this 12-week course, learners will complete 24 directed drawings of animals led step-by-step by the teacher and collaborate with other learners! Each animal drawing will come with an optional writing page where your learner can write about the animal or create a story about their drawing/animal. These have a fun/cartoon style and are not realistic. ✏️This course is 12 weeks long with 2 directed drawings per week. Each directed drawing comes with a writing page that matches your learners drawing. For each writing prompt, learners can write just a few sentences about their drawing. They can write a story, their thoughts while drawing, what they like about their drawing, anything! The idea is to promote creative writing -- something they *want* to write about and share with other learners. ***If you have a young learner that is still learning how to read, write, and/or type sentences, there is a built-in feature where they can record audio or their voice within the classroom rather than using the writing pages. (optional) ***I will provide a primary writing page (primary writing lines) and an intermediate writing page for each animal so your learner has a writing page that best fits their developmental level with writing. ✏️A great idea would be to hole-punch each weeks drawings and writing prompts to create a 12-week animal art portfolio! (optional) ✏️If you choose to pay by week rather than the entire course upfront, you will automatically be provided with the first lessons upon enrollment and the following lessons will post every 7 days. These lessons are pre-recorded videos of myself completing each drawing. I have two cameras in my classroom. The first camera is recording me and the second is a document camera so the drawing can be easily viewed. This is a flexible class so drawings can be done anytime that week. I will *always* provide feedback to every writing prompt and drawing that your learner decides to share. ✏️I will check-in to the classroom at least two times a day, 7 days a week. ❓Why enroll in a self-paced class? -Great for busy families with unpredictable schedules -Able to interact with students from all over the world without worrying about time zone differences -Students are able to pause videos as they work so they can learn at their own pace -Comfortable learning environment for students who dislike being on camera, but still want to learn and interact
Learning Goals
