Class Experience
Each week I will post my interactive classroom, which will include an art demonstration for "The Country of the Week", so you can create a piece of art from that country. Included is information on making a passport and you can print out a stamp each week. Interactive questions and answers you do with the other members of the class. I will post fun puzzles for you to do whilst interacting with the other learners. Finished art work should be posted each week on the classroom. Participation is essential to ensure proper understanding of the materials and to promote a sense of community in class. You can post polite comments on each others artwork Your child is encouraged to interact with the rest of the class and myself to talk about what they have learnt, ask each other and me questions. Activities and Puzzles will be added in the classroom each week. Watercolor paints are used a lot in this class, but if you prefer to finish your artwork with a different medium that is absolutely fine. Just use whatever you have to hand. Information on the Countries that you will do artwork from: Week 1:- Japan - Travel to Japan, learn about Mount Fuji, Great Wall of China and Palaces. A slideshow including information on Japan. Artwork - Create your very own beckoning cat. Materials - White watercolor paper, Black permanent marker, watercolor paints, water and paint brush. Week 2:- Australia - Stop off in Australia and learn about the Sydney Harbor bridge and other monuments. A slideshow including information on Australia. Artwork - Create a beautiful scenic picture of Sydney Harbor, bridge and opera house. Materials - White watercolor paper, Black permanent marker, watercolor paints, water and paint brush. Week 3:- Germany - Catch a ferry to Germany to learn about castles and beautiful Landscapes. A slideshow including information on Germany. Artwork - Create a delightful drawing of a landscape with a castle on manor house in the distance. Materials - White paper, Black permanent marker (oil pastel or crayon), Something to color with (markers, colored pencils or crayons). Alternatively you can use watercolor paint. Week 4:- Namibia (Southern Africa) - Go on Safari and learn about different animals, deserts and much more. A slideshow including information about the Country Namibia and the Continent of Africa, includes a virtual safari. Artwork - Create a unique picture of an Elephant, with a marker watercolor technique. Materials - White watercolor paper, Black washable marker (crayola or similar - do not use permanent marker), water, paintbrush (paint not required this week). Week 5:- Canada - Our final stop is in Canada, learn about Niagara Falls, the Maid of the mist, beautiful cities and the majestic moose. A slideshow including information on Canada. Artwork - A beautiful painting of Niagara Falls. Materials - White watercolor paper, Black permanent marker, watercolor paints, water and paint brush. Finished art work may be posted at any time and feedback will be provided. Participation is encouraged to ensure proper understanding of the materials and to promote a sense of community in class. It can be taken as a stand-alone class or in conjunction with my other Art around the World flexible class.
