Class Experience

In this art course, students will learn about world-famous artists: Andy Warhol, Picasso, W. Kandinsky, Van Gogh, and Jim Dine. Each day we will talk about one artist and his art style (pop art, cubism, abstraction, impressionism, modernism) and we will look at the artist's most famous paintings. There will be a short lesson on each artist and slides will be used as visuals. After that, students will be guided to create their own artwork inspired by this artist. This class will also include story books on the artists. My teaching style is patient and encouraging. Students will interact with the teacher and the other students as we make our creations. Students will discuss each artist with the teacher and the other students. Students will be encouraged to share their artwork with the class. No prior art knowledge is needed for this class.

Day 1 - Andy Warhol- Ice Cream- Students will increase their art vocabulary and make a rendition of this style Pop Art style artwork.

Day 2- Picasso- Students will explore Cubism and make a Picasso face.

Day 3-Vincent Van Gogh. Sunflowers. Students are going to draw this well-known artwork and add some cool looking details.

Day 4- Wassily Kandinsky. Students will use different mediums to create an abstract art piece in the style of Kadinsky.

Day 5- Jim Dine. Students will use different art techniques to recreate Jim Dine’s hearts.

Students may need some time outside of class to finish their art projects.

Note: Please see the supply list below

My main principle - there are no mistakes in art only happy accidents. Everyone, even the smallest artist, has their own path. I encourage students to add personal touches into their artwork.

If this class interests your learner please sign up for the class. I'll take the slot and teach even if it's just one learner. I am excited to meet your learner!
