A weekly assignment will be posted in the classroom for students to complete. The second part of our weekly requirements is a classmate discussion on each other's works of art.Class Experience
☀️ Summer Savings: $10 off with coupon code DIANNIFUNFLEX10 ! ☀️ **This is a continuation class. The concept is the exact same, however the assignments/drawings each week will be different. You do not need to take Part 1 in order to take this class. You can take them in any order you wish!** ------ In this four week flex class, students will have the opportunity to let their imaginations soar while creating pieces of art that are unique and creative! Each week, I will post a learning video of a picture that is already started. I will encourage myself (as I model) to use higher order thinking skills to take a closer look at the picture to finish it. I will also tell students, whatever the teacher creates is a unique piece of art, meaning no one else can copy my idea. Students will then be assigned the same incomplete drawing for them to complete on their own for their weekly assignment. An example of an incomplete drawing could be: a picture that looks like half of a cloud, however, the directions for each student assignment will clearly state that students will need to "think outside of the box" and create a UNIQUE picture and NOT a cloud. Each week students will receive a different incomplete picture to complete. ----- Weekly Breakdown: Each week will consist of an incomplete drawing/shape. Students will watch my learning video as I model using higher order thinking skills to transform it into something different. Students will be assigned the same incomplete drawing/shape and be required to transform it into something different, and can not be a replica of the example used in the learning video. As interaction is required each week, students have multiple options in order to do so. Please see the three options below on how to best participate in this class. (one is required weekly) -Students can upload their work and write a story about it, and then comment on another student's work. -Students can create a video explaining their unique piece of art, and then comment on another student's work. -Students can participate directly in the "weekly open discussion thread". To really encourage interaction, the teacher has opened another means to communicate by incorporating a weekly open discussion thread where I will post a "this or that" question. The this or that question will consist of two pictures that I transformed and asking students which picture would they prefer-- this or that. Students will write/post a video response and will further discuss with fellow peers. ---- The purpose of this course is to strengthen flexible thinking skills, teach kids to look at things from a different perspective, help them develop an appreciation for the work of others, and allow them to see how unique and creative they are n their own way--all while having fun!
Learning Goals
Students will be able to use flexible and higher order thinking skills to create drawings that are creative and unique while actively discussing with each other. Students will also strengthen fine motor skills and cognitive abilities.

👩🏼🏫My Philosophy:
It is my philosophy that teaching should always be done in an environment that is healthy, educational, and most importantly safe. I believe that students thrive when they feel the most comfortable, and by transforming learning into fun activities, it allows students to gain a better understanding on a topic whether they realize it or not! It gives me such pride at the end of each school year when they can showcase their learning talents to their parents! I am excited to meet new students and provide the same type of love and enthusiasm to help reach their highest potentials!
