Description

Class Experience

This is a week long camp that focuses on various painting techniques and subject matter. Students will work with tempera paints, watercolors, oil pastels, and are free to add any other mediums of their choice. They will work along with me via shared screen on each project. Class time frames are 90 minutes each but may vary with student experience and age. The schedule is as follows:

Students will develop a varied skill set for painting with watercolors, tempera, acrylics and oil pastels. The main focus will be learning to see shapes in a painting and ignoring visual assumptions about the subjects.

I am a full time art educator. I teach pre-k through High School for the largest district in NW Ohio. I am also a working artist and specialize in mixed metal etching and jewelry making, painting, moss wall art and fibers. I travel during the summer and participate in some of the largest art shows in the country.

Suggested materials:
Acrylic paints are not necessary, but can be an option for some of the paintings. Keep in mind that they cannot be used for multi-medium classes that require layering
