Description
Class Experience
In this course, students will be introduced to the story of master artists such as Rembrandt, Monet, Matisse, and Kandinsky. Each class will give a brief overview of the artist's history and a sampling of their work. A variety of projects will be included such as egg paint, collages, shadows, portraits, knife painting, melted crayon art, chalk art, textures, jungle prints, clay carving, tessellations, murals, architectural box houses, dots, and comics. Students will re-create a piece of art...
Students will be able to identify an artist and describe his/her style of art. Students will recreate a work of art in the style of the artists studied.
I have been teaching multiple elementary subjects for over ten years and taught life science to 3rd and 4th-grade students. My bachelor's degree is in Early Childhood Education. I love the elementary age of exploration! Following the Charlotte Mason and Waldorf approach to learning, students will complete hands-on activities, recipes, and games at home. I will equip your student to expand their thinking in creative ways and enable them to actively engage in learning. Supplemental materials will be provided for students who wish to dig deeper, but homework is not required.
Art supplies to have on hand include paint, ink, colored pencils, art chalk, sculpting clay, paint brushes, watercolor paper, watercolors, scissors, construction paper, glue.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The learner is assessed through question/ answer and participation.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Supervision of use with scissors and paints.
