In this course, students will be introduced to the story of master artists such as Rembrandt, Monet, Matisse, and Kandinsky. Each class will give a brief overview of the artist's history and a sampling of their work. A variety of projects will be included such as egg paint, collages, shadows, portraits, knife painting, melted crayon art, chalk art, textures, jungle prints, clay carving, tessellations, murals, architectural box houses, dots, and comics. Students will be able to identify an artist and describe his/her style of art. Students will recreate a work of art in the style of the artists studied.

Art supplies to have on hand include paint, ink, colored pencils, art chalk, sculpting clay, paint brushes, watercolor paper, watercolors, scissors, construction paper, glue.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The learner is assessed through question/ answer and participation.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Supervision of use with scissors and paints.
