Class Experience

In this one-time class, students will create a beautiful silhouette seascape painting. 

The teacher will interact with each student throughout the class and monitor their progress.  The students will follow along with the teacher step-by-step on the teacher’s document camera.  The teacher will model each step for this painting lesson visually and verbally. The teacher will give the students design techniques, ideas, examples, and encourage them to use their own imaginations to make this...

* The students will learn how to blend watercolors. 
*The students will learn how to paint small waves.  
*The students will learn how to paint reflections.
*The students will learn different brush stroke techniques. 
*The students will learn what a silhouette is.
*The students will learn some facts about dragonflies.
*The students will engage in listening/following direction skills.
*The students will engage in socialization skills.

*Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education
*NJ State Certified K-6 Elementary Teacher
*NJ State Certified K-12 Fine Arts Teacher 
*17 years teaching in a public elementary school 
*40+ years teaching and working with children

  1 file available upon enrollment*9”x12” white watercolor paper (Heavyweight is best) 
 *Watercolor paint set (Please have a set that has multiple color shades)
*A small container filled with water
*A medium-size flat head paintbrush size #12
*A small pointed-tip paintbrush size #2
*A small pointed-tip paintbrush size #3
*A medium-size angled paintbrush size #6
*A pencil
*Paper towels
*Black acrylic paint  (in a small container)
*White acrylic paint (in a small container)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

1 hour 10 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
