Dive into the world of ancient life through art! With over 97% of Earth's past life extinct, the fossil record offers a treasure trove of inspiration. Each week, we explore a fascinating prehistoric creature, from dinosaurs to mammoths, uncovering its discovery, anatomy, and ecology. Participants use scientific references like fossils and skeletal reconstructions to create accurate artwork, guided by peer and instructor feedback. Our supportive environment includes a weekly thread for sharing projects and progress. Subjects are inspired by recent discoveries and learner suggestions, making every session fresh and exciting. Whether you love paleontology, nature, or science, this class is the perfect blend of creativity and discovery. Join us and bring the past to life! Our theme for 2025 is an exploration of ancient ecosystems on every continent! Topics will be updated each quarter: Week of....
