Class Experience


In this class we will explore the world of some of the greatest composers, writers, and artists in history. We will discuss their childhood, their influences, and what they did that left a mark on history. We will discuss the differences between them, and how the time period that they lived shaped their artistic creations. We will explore their legacy, influence, unique style. 

Week 1 - Charles Dickens - English Writer
Week 2 - Edgar Degas - French Artist
Week 3 - Aaron Copland - American...

Students will gain a better understanding of some of the classic artists, musicians, and writers from history.

I have been an educator on Outschool since February of 2018. I have my MBA and MHA, both of which have taught me the value of conducting research and asking questions.

Each class (with the exception of class 8) will have 2-4 homework assignments that correlate with that weeks topic. This could be to write your own poetry or short story, read and summarize, listen to composition, or to research similar artists. 

During the course, students will work together on writing a short play surrounding these amazing artists. If there is only one student enrolled, the project will be adapted to students interest.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Kahoot
Youtube

No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.

This class will cover a variety of artists. Some of the topics that will be covered in an age appropriate manner are discrimination, sexism, and racism. 

This class will utilize Youtube videos for sharing of lecture videos, as well as supplemental lessons. All Youtube videos are embedded into the Outschool platform. This class may also utilize Kahoot. Learners will be given a direct link and game pin to play.
