ABOUT: ✨This *camp/workshop* aims to inspire and support learners in expanding their understanding of Art, Mindfulness & Yoga practices while building self confidence and making connections with other learners who enjoy these activities. Learners who sign up for more than one camp session can expect a unique experience during each session. ✨Mindfulness & Yoga activities will include: breathing, gentle stretching, asana (poses), Mindful movement and sensory-based meditation. ✨ Process Art is art exploration that is self-directed, choice-driven and celebrates the experience of discovery. In process art the final product is always unique, and the focus is the creation not the outcome. Process art is rooted in Mindfulness, and builds skills in creative thinking, problem solving, confidence and experimentation. ✨ ✨CAMP EXPERIENCE:✨ Day 1: Introductions/ ice breakers + "Mindfulness & Yoga 101" (apx. 10 minute presentation featuring an overview of different Yoga practices & styles and ideas for bringing Mindfulness into art + Q&A) + mini Yoga/movement session + Process Art prompt Day 2: Mindfulness & Yoga + Process Art (clay, dough & squishy stuff) Day 3: Mindfulness & Yoga + Process Art ( eco art) Day 4: Mindfulness & Yoga + Process Art (collage &/or assemblage) Day 5: Mindfulness & Yoga + Process Art (colorful creations ) + Sharing art creations + final reflections ✨CLASS FLOW for days 2-5✨ *times are approximate and depend on class size, but the majority of the class time will always be dedicated to Art, Mindfulness & Yoga activities* 0-5 minutes: introductions /ice breakers 5-25 min: Mindfulness & Yoga explorations (breathing, asana/poses, Mindful movement & meditation) 25-45 min: Process Art explorations 45-50 min: final sharing and/or closing Mindfulness activity 💕In each class students will be invited to share creations with the group, but if they choose not to that is absolutely fine. During sharing I will be considerate of everyone's time, and make sure all voices are heard in a way that is equitable. I welcome questions & feedback from learners during the class (after poses & meditation and during the process art sections) and at any time through the classroom page. 🌱My teaching by style is informed by the Reggio Emilia Approach and arts-integrated education. I always aim to honor and uplift children’s unique abilities. As an artist I value flexibility and creativity...with a sprinkle of structure here and there ;) So while this isn't a "how to draw" class, I will always be happy to share my knowledge of the elements and principles of design. “Yoga takes you into the present moment. The only place where life exists." - unknown

Parental Guidance
Comfortable clothes, bare feet or slip-proof socks, and space to safely move around on the floor. Use a Yoga mat if you have one, but if not just find an area where you have enough room on the floor to lie down with your arms and legs fully extended. I don't recommend using towels or blankets to replace a Yoga mat, as they can cause you to trip or slip.
