Welcome to a fun and easy class for oil pastel blending and textured backgrounds. I'll show my finished artwork at the start of class as a reference. We'll discuss all the art supplies needed and I'll give a step-by-step drawing lesson to sketch the fish while learners create their work with me. - Oil pastel coloring, blending and texturizing techniques to create a beautiful oil pastel painting. Chalk pastels can be substituted for oil pastels.
Oil pastel or mixed media paper. Oil pastels, gel sticks, or chalk pastels for children. (water soluble) Q-tips or use fingers to blend. Plastic painting palette knife to scratch the background. (No kitchen knives please.) Paper towels or wipes for clean up.
Use only child safe oil pastels (typically water soluble). Child safe plastic painting palette knife only. (No kitchen knives please.)
