In this one time class students will use crayons or oil pastels and watercolor to make an Art piece in the style of Abstract Expressionism like Kandinsky. A brief lecture on this art style will be given. #creative

Description
Class Experience
In this art one time class students will learn about world-famous artist: W. Kandinsky. After short introductions we will talk about the artist and his art style (abstract expressionism) and we will look at the artist's most famous paintings and works of art. We will make a rendition of Kandinsky’s “Yellow, Red and Blue”). There will be a short lecture on the artist and slides will be used as visuals. Students will be guided step by step to create their own artwork inspired by this artist....
This class is taught in English.
Students will learn about Abstract Expressionism. Students will learn art vocabulary. Students will learn art techniques.
I have a teaching credential in Art. I have a Masters of Education. I have been teaching Art to young learners for over twenty years.
No homework but students may want to spend a few minutes after class finishing up.
Watercolor paper Crayons or Oil pastels Watercolor paint Cup of water Paint brush Napkin or paper towel *Could be done completely with crayon, marker or colored pencil instead.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Informal assessment of Art piece.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
