This class will cover several elements of art in a zoom conference format. We will look at and discuss Sandra's work. Then taking inspiration from her use of line, shape, and pattern we will draw our own abstract portrait. After looking at her use of color we will add to our piece with soft chalk pastels. Finishing will black for emphasis we will complete this project.
Elements of Art - Line, Shape, Pattern, Color
I love to look at others artists work and how they have used the elements of art to create their art. I find it inspiring and like to challenge myself in using their way of creating or their thought process to learn new ways to create.
Black Construction Paper (or white if no black is available) Black oil pastel or crayon Soft pastels or chalk in a variety of colors
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
My goal is to inspire kids to look at other artist, seeing what and how they have used the elements of art and incoorporating it into thier own art piece. He process is a very important part of art, not necessarily the end product. Especially for younger artists.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
