Class Experience

Students will analyze the basic historical implications and background of Galileo's major discoveries. Students will learn how Galileo pioneered the use of telescopes in astronomical observation of the solar system. By the end of the lesson, students will learn how Galileo discovered sunspots, lunar features, the phases of Venus, Jupiter's large moons, Saturn's rings, the planet Uranus, and more!
I have almost two years of experience on Outschool and have instructed students on how to use art to discover Galileo's discoveries for many years in a general classroom setting. As a certified Earth and Space Science, History, and Elementary School educator, I have a plethora of experience in using various methods to teach students new content!
No homework will be assigned with this class.
Students will need 2-3 pieces of white printer paper, white cardstock, OR white coloring paper (the extra 1-2 are for potential "redos"). Cardstock and white coloring paper work best, but printer paper is fine. Students will need a pencil, black marker, and colored pencils (all major colors).
No formal assessment will be given unless requested by parent(s).
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
