This simple guided tutorial will walk students through the process of drawing a single dragon's or mermaid's eye. Students will learn how to draw a 2D eye with the use of texture, color and shading, so that it appears 3D. First , I will demonstrate the step, then students will add those features to their eye before moving on to the next step of the tutorial. We'll draw together guidelines , upper and lower eyelids and scales using light pressure. Color value, highlights, and shading skills are discussed, practiced and then applied to the sketch. Learners can make it their own through use of color combinations, pupil variances and scale designs. Adaptations are welcomed and offered to older, advanced artists while keeping instructions fairly simple for beginners. Children are encouraged to ask questions at any time but will primarily stay muted during instruction time.
Learning Goals
Students will be introduced to basic principles of sketching, color gradients shading and texture in an informal, creative setting.
