Important Notes: All of my classes are inclusive. Classes are suitable for the neurodiverse child. CEFR: B1-B2 or above. In this Art History class, Learner travels through the world's civilizations and many cultures discovering how the concept of Love (familial, platonic, romantic, unrequited, divine, mythological, etc.) has inspired artists throughout millennia. Learner will develop a history-based art appreciation through the carefully selected art pieces created by relevant artists, showcasing a significant group of media & styles (including among others the Egyptian, Greek, Etruscan & Roman sculptures, Indian art, Illuminated Manuscripts from Medieval Times, Flemish, Golden Baroque, Rococo, Romantic, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Fauvism, Surrealism, Modern Art, etc.) The class is structured with an introduction, an extensive (over 60 carefully curated art pieces), vibrant and engaged slide presentation, exchanges, and Q&A session.Teaching style is kind and inclusive, emphasizing enthusiasm for the arts, with fascinating learning & discovery of less known historical and artistic details. For these reasons and for gauging Learner's interest level and to be able to adjust accordingly, open mics and video are required in my classes so there is a sense of community and engagement with the material. Class size is kept small to allow for comments and curious questions. This class is one of a group of Art History classes that follow a timeline through a central theme. Each class is unique, presenting new art works, while reinforcing the learning of the other classes by the repeated exposure to main styles and the greatest Master artists of all times. This class is one of a group of Art History classes, which may be taken as a complete group, as in a camp format, or separately. In addition to being kid-friendly, by following the history of art through a unifying theme the child may enjoy, pedagogically speaking, it helps the child organize the many artists and styles in a way that is focused on a favorite subject, thus easier to remember. No previous experience is required.
