Class Experience

In this week long class we will learn how to draw and paint like a different famous artist each day. We will also learn about the history of the artist and the different periods of art. My class is structured with brief introductions and a short discussion about the artist. I will use a step by step method to teach the students how to make their art piece. Students will be encouraged to add their own details and creative flair to the art piece. If the student wants to take their art piece in a different direction this is encouraged and supported. My teaching style is patient and encouraging. Students will be able to interact with the teacher and the other learners throughout the class. Students will also be encouraged to ask questions and make comments about the art. There will also be a short lecture on the artist. The teacher will also use slides and stories to teach art history in an age appropriate way. No prior art knowledge or experience is necessary to take this course.

Day 1: Renoir-Still Life with Fruit (Impressionism)
Day 2: Klimt: Tree of Life (Art Nouveau which is part of an art movement called the Vienna Secession)
Day 3: O'Keefe: Autumn Leaves (Modernism)
Day 4: Munch: Scream (Expressionism)
Day 5: Van Gogh: Arles: View from the Wheat Fields (Impressionism)
