In this art course, learners will learn about a new artist every week and create art inspired by that Artist during the Impressionism / Post Impressionism movement.

Class Experience
In this course, students will learn about the history of art, different artists, and art appreciation. Learners will create works of art based on inspiration of the artists from Impressionism and Post Impressionism featured each week. Throughout the course will be learning about the artists, viewing their artwork and recreating art inspired by that artist or type of art. A majority of this course is learning about the art, typically 20 minutes are reserved for creating the art to go along with it. Each week I will post one video / lesson. Typically each video / lesson is posted on Mondays at 10 am EST. Below are the artists: Class 1: Vincent Van Gogh Supplies: Foil cut to 8x10 or larger, Washable or Acrylic Paint, Palate or paper plate, cup of water, paint brushes Class 2: Claude Monet Supplies: Mixed Media Paper or Watercolor paper, 8x10 or larger, Paint, Paint brushes, Cup of water, Paper plate or Palate Class 3: Edgar Degas Supplies: Attached print out, Glue Stick, Mixed Media Paper or Watercolor paper, 8x10 or larger, Paint, Paint brushes, Cup of water, Paper plate or Palate Class 4: Mary Cassatt Supplies: Attached print out, Glue Stick, Mixed Media Paper or Watercolor paper, 8x10 or larger, Paint, Paint brushes, Cup of water, Paper plate or Palate In order to create social interaction, students are encouraged to upload their completed artwork projects completed. Students are welcome to message in the classroom with any questions or comments.

Hello, My name is Christina Casanova and I love to teach young students the wonders of art and it's history. I have been an Art teacher for the past 5 years and have a BA in Art from SUNY Empire State College. I believe that students can learn a lot from art history and have fun trying new and exciting art techniques! I make sure that my students are engaged and are having fun in the process. I believe that having children create and express their creativity will allow them to view the world in a different way, as well as focus them for other areas of study.
