In this ongoing class, learners will be introduced to a different artist each week. To start class, we will learn and have a discussion about the artist and their work. This will be done largely though a slide show while asking students about what they see. During this portion of class, each learner is given an opportunity to talk. Next, we will make artwork of our own inspired by that week's artist. Some weeks, the students will be led in a directed drawing and asked to add creativity to...
Students will be introduced to different artists and art movements. Students will continue to develop skills in artistic expression, artistic decision making, and fine motor skills.
The two things I love most in life is art and teaching! I have a degree in art education and have lots of experience working with young students. I fell in love with art history with in college, and want to share my passion and knowledge with my students. I strive to do this by fostering meaningful conversations about the artwork, creating unique projects, and presenting them in developmentally appropriate and engaging ways.
