Let's learn about one of the greatest art movements in history: The Renaissance! This course aims to be an introduction to art history, and specifically the Renaissance, a period of time that took place between the 14th to the 17th century. This period is known for works of thought, invention and, of course, art. Students will learn about what exactly the Renaissance was and the works of art that came out of it. Students will gain knowledge and an overview about the art and artists from the Renaissance.
I have a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in History & English. I have studied art history extensively at a post-graduate level. I have taught history courses in a traditional classroom setting.
There will be no homework assigned for this course. Students will participate in 45 minute classes every week.
Students will need access to a secondary device, such as an iPad or phone for short portions of the lesson. This is for when we play Kahoot quizzes or games to not only test comprehension, but to also have fun! Students are not required but are welcome to take notes during the class.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
There are some works of art that will contain nudity, such as the statue of David by Donatello. This may be considered sensitive subject matter for some learners and parents.
We will refer to the a wide variety of works of art produced during the Renaissance.
