Class Experience

As if stepping into a beautiful art museum, learners will get a chance to analyze and learn about the works of art produced during the Baroque and Rococo art movement. This is an art movement that took place in the 1600s and 1700s, spreading across the majority of Europe, and resulting in the creation of some of the world's greatest masterpieces. Students will learn the techniques, characteristics, leading figures and influences that Baroque had.

Students will be learning about artists such as Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Bernini, Velazquez, Watteau, Vermeer, Rubens and many more.

What caused this movement to occur? Was it in response to any social, political, or religious movements? Who were the artists most well known during this period? -- Learners will get answers to all these questions.

There is no homework for this course. Students will participate through open discussion, as well as occasional quizzes and games.
