In this one time class we will learn about Frida Khalo and the history about the art. After short introductions there will be a brief discussion about Frida Khalo and Surrealism. Next there will be a step by step demonstration of how to recreate one of her famous art pieces called Viva La Vida. Slides will be used as visuals. The lesson will also include stories about Frida Khalo to teach art in an age appropriate way. Learners will be able to interact with the teacher and the other learners...

Students will learn about Frida Khalo. Students will learn about Art History. Students will learn about Surrealism. Students will learn art vocabulary. Students will learn art techniques.
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in History. I have a K-12 Multiple Subject teaching credential. I also have a teaching credential in Art. I have a Masters in Education and have taught art for over twenty years.
No homework but students may want to spend a few minutes after class finishing up.
Watercolor paper or a heavy paper such as construction paper. Crayons or oil pastels Watercolor paints Paint brush Paper towel Cup of water
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
