In this four day camp, learners will journey back in time and dig up some ancient Egyptian history! Students will immerse themselves in the history, art and culture of this ancient civilization through a variety of artistic mediums. Leaners will tap into their creative natures through hands-on art projects and learn about: King Tut, Queen Nefertiti, the Eye of Horus, pyramids, and the ancient goddess Bast (for the cat lover in you!) Learners will be introduced to the history of ancient Egypt through hands-on art projects, materials, and artistic techniques.
Students may need additional time outside of class to continue working on any unfinished artwork.
This is a suggested art supply list, however learners are welcome to use whatever art materials they have available. 1) Paper: watercolor, cardstock, or mixed media (any of these will work, as long as it's durable to sustain paint) and a few pieces of construction paper 2) Pencil, eraser, scissors and a glue stick 3) Paint: Crayola (non - toxic) acrylics Watercolors Paint brushes 4) Colored pencils, and oil pastels or crayons
Students will have the option to share their work with others. (optional)
2 hours 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
