Class Experience
Many artists are wildly known for their paintings of flowers, boating, fields, spring, summer, and all the activities that take place in the warmer months. The times when they can comfortably stay outside for extended periods of time. But the artists who braved the harsh winter, experiencing the cold and change of season should be appreciated as well. Students will practice describing art and learn about multiple artists including Kandinsky, Caspar David Friedrich, Pieter Bruegel the Elder, and Claude Monet.
I teach art history to college students and try to connect art history to the every day. I've taken pieces of lectures to create this lesson hoping to get students in the winter spirit.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
