Class Experience

For students to have fun and develop their sense of compassion.

Getting introduced to the concept of “up-cycling”, i.e. giving value to, or creating something wonderful from discarded materials, such as old magazines.

Gaining a deeper understanding of the basic principles of design, such as unity, juxtaposition and contrast.

Precision cutting and tearing skills, color and pattern selection for impact and harmony.
I teach Visual Arts and Design to middle and high school students in a Montessori / International Baccalaureate school in Florida, USA. I also have over ten years of experience teaching art and comparative literature at college level.
Prior to class, unless they want to use their own sketches, students will need to choose and print out symbol of peace template.
White copy paper Colorful magazine pages Colored construction papers Printed out symbol of piece template (optional) Watercolor paint (optional) Scissors Glue stick
