In this 6 lesson course we will learn about observational drawing! I will be demonstrating the projects and techniques in a series of step-by-step videos & slideshows. Students will explore a variety of media. Lesson 1: Learning to Look! This lesson learners will learn about proportions and create a gridded drawing of a still life. Lesson 2: Looking at Line! This lesson learners will learn about contour line. Learners will create a contour line drawing featuring objects from observation. Learners will choose their own objects. Lesson 3: This lesson we will continue our study of contour line. Learners will choose an object to analyze in a series of small drawings. Lesson 4: Examining Value! This lesson we will learn about value. Learners will complete a value chart and practice shading of objects. Lesson 5: Learners will create an abstract value drawing. Learners will focus on shading and smoothing blending transitions in value. Lesson 6: Learners will curate their own still life and complete it in value.

I have taught a variety of courses over my career such as: Fine Arts 1 & 2, Introduction to Photography, Pottery 1 & 2, Introduction to Jewelry, Introduction to Crafts, Introduction to Sculpture, Design 1 & 2.
I believe creating art is a process. It takes making a mess, mistakes and trying again! Creating art is a method of communication with the world!
When I'm not creating art, I love cooking, reading, spending time with friends & family!
