In this small and relaxed 3 day class students will create a field of flowers in a light and whimsical style using watercolor and line drawing techniques. Days 1 & 2 students will spend the first few minutes of class observing flower photography images and modern painter styles that will inspire their work. Then, they will learn watercolor techniques to create the colorful background for our artworks. As paintings dry each day, students will use drawing exercises and contour line drawing techniques to learn how to loosely drawing 2-3 types of flowers from observation. At the end of each day students will get individualized, positive feedback on their drawings and have the opportunity to show and share with classmates. During day 3 students use their knowledge of drawing and intuition to draw their flowers over their watercolor paintings to create 1-2 final images followed by a final show and share in the last 5-10 minutes of class.

Parental Guidance
Parents, please note this class teaches a loose, very relaxed style of drawing and painting focused on line quality and color. This is not an observational drawing class.
