Although there is no formal homework, there are several opportunities each week for Artists to get creative, experiment and explore new ideas and new art media on their own time. I am excited to see what they do and hope they will share!Class Experience
US Grade 3 - 7
Beginner Level
Artists and families! I am so excited to share this great class with you! We will draw and paint new artwork using a variety of techniques, media, and a rainbow of colors! Often our projects are inspired by process art – a technique where the process of creating the art is just as important as the actual result. In this series, you have access to 45 LESSONS, including 9 FULL PROJECT VIDEOS, 9 mini drawing videos, and several creative activities! This is all on your schedule as you have access for a full year! In the kickoff video for each lesson group (organized by “week”), I will lead Artists through the big project and my overhead art cam will guide them so they can easily see each step. Of course, they can pause or stop the video as needed to work at their pace! I encourage Artists to modify or change anything in the project they feel will make it their own, including additions, embellishments or even changing colors. I want Artists to feel inspired by my ideas but make it their own. There will be unique warm-weather art prompts and challenges intended to help Artists think about the world around them in a more creative way and inspire them with even the simplest ideas! These include a squiggle drawing starter, an art and music prompt (synesthesia), a unique drawing idea to try, and a little research project called, "Beyond The Brush." Details for all activities in the lesson group are included, but feel free to reach out with any questions. I will look out for Artists to share their amazing masterpieces and comments throughout the class with each activity they complete so we can celebrate their hard work and what they have accomplished! This is done on their schedule and I will check in multiple times each week. They can share through discussion posts, photos, short video clips, and links. Artists can share ANY other artwork they would like and want feedback on. Expect a lot of praise for all the wins and effort; for the courage to try new things; for the willingness to explore using different art media and for "stepping out of the box!" The more interaction the better in a self-paced class as in my studio it is important to recognize each Artist for their effort and for them to feel seen and heard in their creative work and encouraged to try more. Thank you so much for your interest. When your Artist is ready, let’s get started! Bravo!
Learning Goals
My goal is for artists to create beautiful and brilliant compositions using different media and fun techniques and to inspire them to try more on their own!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from UCLA
Hello! I'm a UCLA Bachelor of Arts graduate who loves experimenting with vibrant colors using markers, paints, pencils, papers, and pastels. My personal style leans towards abstraction, graphics, and impressionism, which often influences my own work. I thrive on the spontaneity of creative projects, especially when working with young learners who are open to new ideas and full of curiosity!
