Class Experience

This ongoing elementary art class gives students the opportunity to explore art making techniques while learning a bit about art history and connecting learning in other subject areas. Each week we will focus on an art element and medium or technique that is inspired by an artwork or artist. Techniques and media covered in this class will include watercolor, collage, mixed media engagements, printmaking, sculpture and clay. Students will learn about both modern and historical art and artists from around the world. Each class will start by introducing our inspiration art and artists along with the technique. Students will be guided through creating a piece of art based on our inspiration art piece however each students work will remain uniquely individual.

Ms. Stephanie uses are variety topics including nature, outer space, architecture, animals, and more to keep class kids interested and challenged with techniques that can be made more or less challenging based on individual learners ages and current ability levels.

Each week needed art supplies will be uploaded into the classroom, however a general list is provided here for your convenience as you plan and prepare.

Parental Guidance
Parents, this class will start promptly. I will generally review needed supplies in the first few minutes of class. It is important that students, to the best of their ability arrive on time with supplies ready. You can find the specific supplies listed in the classroom by Sunday evening (EST) each week. When students arrive late, I will acknowledge them and continue with the discussion already in progress. I ask that students wait for a natural pause to raise their hands for comments, questions, or concerns. Thank you for you understanding and for helping keep the class moving at a pace that helps us all feel successful and creative.
Supply List
This is a generic list of materials used regularly in this class. Each week the classroom is updated by Sunday evening 8pm Eastern with the specific supplies you will need for the upcoming class. If you enroll after Sunday evening, you will not be able to see the supply list. I do my very best to repost in those cases, please make sure if you don't see a "repost:" that you send an email to me through Outschool so I can update you directly.
