From China to Alaska this class is like no other! Students will be introduced to a new culture and given art projects to complete after class that integrates what we learned. History, traditions, language, and art collide in this fully immersive and fun learning adventure! This course has ten continuing objectives each month... 1. Locate the geographic location of countries around the world 2. Record 1 historical fact from the country of study 3. Describe 1 traditional celebration 4. Identify the countries flag design and colors 5. Learn one word from the native language of the country 6. Identify sounds and instruments included in the local music. 7. Create a piece of art that correlates to the region of study 8. Define the word "culture" and describe 1 aspect of each countries culture. 9. Identify cultural food 10. Recognize similarities and differences between cultures and countries with positive regard Art projects and recipes will be assigned and given with easy-to-follow directions. Art is not completed in class, but resources are posted on our class page for students with a variety of projects to choose from. Art & Culture Around the World cultivates and helps develop global thinkers. Below is a list of countries we will study throughout the year. Countries will have a 2-year rotation.
