Class Experience

In this 8 lesson course, we will draw a new animal each lesson. Each lesson I will post a video demonstrating a guided drawing of a cute animal!   Students can personalize their background and make creative choices.  

I will show students several examples to help with the brainstorming process!  No prior knowledge is needed.  

Students have the choice of media-markers, watercolor or color pencil will all work for these drawings.  I will be using fine marker & color pencil in my demonstrations.  

In my lessons I do show students how to create value in color pencil.  This will make their drawings look more realistic and dimensional.  Students will first draw the outlines of their animals.  I demonstrate in marker and then we complete the drawing in color pencil.

In this lesson students will draw a Golden Retriever Dog.

Lesson Two: 
In this lesson students will draw an Elephant.

Lesson Three: 
In this lesson students will draw an Owl.

Lesson Four: 
In this lesson students will draw a Chick.

Lesson Five: 
In this lesson students will draw a Monkey.

Lesson Six: 
In this lesson students will draw a Cat.

Lesson Seven: 
In this lesson students will draw a Pig.

Lesson Eight: 
In this lesson students will draw a Koala.

I have taught high school art for 18 years! Last year I had the opportunity to teach middle school students remotely and loved it! I have taught a variety of courses over my career such as: Fine Arts 1 & 2, Introduction to Photography, Pottery 1 & 2, Introduction to Jewelry, Introduction to Crafts, Introduction to Sculpture, Design 1 & 2.

I believe creating art is a process. It takes making a mess, mistakes and trying again!  Creating art is a method of communication with the world!

When I'm not creating art, I love cooking, reading, spending time with friends & family!
