Teacher expertise and credentials
Syd is an award-winning STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) communicator, a science radio broadcaster and a qualified teacher with over a decade of experience working with children aged 4 to 18 years old. She is enthuasiatic and passionate and is keen to share her knowledge with children and adults alike.
Syd is a sought after tutor, with a MSci in Theoretical Physics & Applied Mathematics and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education, she has taught in top State, Private and Grammar Schools in the UK. She is a serial entrepreneur - a founder of multiple businesses; one has delivered Science, Public Speaking and Art workshops to over 12,000 children. Her more recent venture includes an online school exclusively for home educated children with students from 20 different countries. She also runs training and coaching for others looking into scaling their education businesses, training teachers to become the best educators.
Syd has a wealth of knowledge and experience within the education sector, but nothing beats teaching:
"What brings me to Outschool, is the fact that I can just purely focus on the teaching and resources and not worry about the other aspects that come with running an education business. I am very excited to be able to share my love of learning with so many new children!"
Syd is very creative in her delivery. Covid has meant that all her snazzy resources are locked up in an office she is unable to reach. This has meant she has to be creative with paper, pens and resources found around the house.
Not only do students learn amazingly new facts, they will also create some cool resources that will become keepsakes.
Syd always wanted to be an artist. She now teaches art to children and adults and often uses creative means to deliver the other subject based content.
