During this weekly, ongoing class, students will learn to draw Squishmallows, using a step-by-step method. We will draw using a pencil first, and then, if time allows, the students may use colored pencil, markers, pens, and/ or crayons to color their drawings. Sometimes, the students can vote to either color or draw something else. If the students choose to draw something else, the students will be encouraged to color after class and share it with everyone during the next class or post it to the classroom wall to share with everyone. During the class, we can socialize and talk about our favorite Squishmallows. ⚠️ Sometimes, there may be holiday themed Squishmallows. If you don't celebrate holidays, please reach out to me and we can discuss it. Thanks! My goal for this class is to not only teach the students how to draw each Squishmallow, but to also give the students practice and techniques to improve their artistic skills on a regular basis. Practice = progress. My hope is to help the students to eventually be able to draw Squishmallows on their own and to help them build their skills, as an artist. Each week, the students will take turns choosing which Squishmallows they want to draw. We will do as many Squishmallows as we can during the time that we have. Knowledge of prior drawing classes will not be necessary since there will be new Squishmallows to draw every week. Students can join this class at any point without getting lost. This is a no pressure class. We are just drawing, socializing, and having fun! Feel free to bring your favorite Squishmallows as inspiration. Students may be shown Squishmallows to choose from via the screen sharing feature on zoom. The website that I will use is https://www.pinterest.com/, which is an approved resource for students under the age of 13, per the Outschool policy. If a student is slow at drawing, it's okay! We all create at our own pace, but unfortunately, we only have the time that we have so the student may be encouraged to finish their piece after class. The classes are recorded so the students are able to watch the recording, go at their own pace (by pausing the video), and try to draw it again. 2 cameras will be used during class, one to show my face and one to show my hands and the drawings. Students will have the option to share their drawing during class, if they want to. Students may be muted if there is a lot of background noise. Please show them how to unmute themselves when they are ready to talk. Thanks! ⚠️ Note: If I don't have a day or time that works for you, please reach out and I'll see what I can do. Thanks!

Master's Degree in Education from Austin Peay State University
Hi everyone! Thank you for stopping by. My name is Mrs. Lacy. I am an artist and an art teacher. I’m thrilled to bring my love of teaching and creativity to Outschool. I believe learning should be fun, interactive, and inspiring, and I strive to create a classroom environment where students feel excited to explore new skills.
A Little About Me:
Educational Background:
I hold a B.A. in Foreign Language (specializing in French) and a minor in Creative Writing, as well as an M.A.Ed. in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL), with a TESOL certification. I earned all my degrees from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Passion for Art:
Art has always been a significant part of my life. From childhood doodles to professional-level projects, I’ve cultivated my skills and share my passion through social media and now, Outschool! I love blending creativity with structured learning to help students build confidence in their artistic abilities.
What I Teach:
I offer engaging art classes designed to spark creativity, from whimsical illustrations to techniques that build artistic fundamentals. Whether your child is an aspiring artist or simply looking for a fun creative outlet, my classes are a perfect fit!
A Note About Scheduling:
If you’re interested in one of my classes but don’t see a time that works for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m happy to discuss alternate times or even explore options for different age ranges. Your child’s learning experience is my top priority, and I aim to be as flexible and accommodating as possible.
Outside the Classroom:
When I’m not teaching, I spend most of my time creating art, penpalling, and making YouTube videos. I also enjoy spending time with my husband and our adorable dog.
I’m so excited to share my passion for art and creativity with your learner. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. I hope to see you in class soon!
