This is an ongoing weekly art class in which students create art. We will be working with a variety of mediums including; marker, oil pastel, watercolor, tempera, air dry clay, and construction paper. The teacher will facilitate a group discussion and then we will get to work on an art project. Students will learn: To create, present, respond, & connect to art (National Core Arts Standards) Some of the elements of art: Line, color, shape, texture, & form How to use and take care of their art tools; scissors, paint brushes, drawing tools, glue, etc. How we share art through story and culture How to express themselves through the art making process
Homework may include finishing a project if it was not completed by the learner during class time.
Project supplies for the upcoming week will be posted in the classroom a week in advance. We will be using the following supplies often, so you may wish to purchase supplies all at once to save on shipping costs or stock up during back to school deals. Please note whenever a specific brand is suggested it is because I have tested its quality and have had success with using it, but parents may choose alternative brands if they wish.
