Beginner Level
In this ongoing class, students will learn to create something new from nature each week. Students will learn to work with different media (pencil, map pencils, crayons, markers, watercolors). We will discuss how to draw it as I demonstrate, then we will pause and students will work on theirs, repeating one step at a time. Students may ask questions when they need to. Students will be able to help decide what we will add to their sketchbooks as much as possible. This class will be adjusted to fit the needs of the students, starting with simpler concepts and adding details for students with more advanced skills. Week of October 21: Students will draw chickens and eggs with pencil. Week of October 28: Students will draw rabbits with pencil and map pencils. Week of November 4: Students will draw fish with pencil and crayon. Week of November 11: Students will draw flowers with pencil and paint with watercolors. Week of November 18: Students will draw caterpillars and butterflies with pencil and markers. Week of November 25: Students will draw vegetables (cornicopia if they'd like) with pencil and map pencils. Week of December 2: Students will draw dolphins and paint with watercolors. Week of December 9: Students will draw monkeys with pencil and crayons. Week of January 13: Students will draw lions with pencil and markers. Week of January 20: Students will draw cats with pencil and map pencils. Week of January 27: Students will draw frogs with pencil and crayons.
