I will demonstrate each step of the art making process and allow time for students to follow each step before moving on. Please see the Learner...
This class is taught in English.
Students will learn the important art elements and principles of: color, balance, and contrast. They will learn to evaluate pictures for these features and to create art with these concepts in mind. In addition, they will practice decision making, creating color gradients, working with chalk pastels, blending, layering, and cutting with and without an edge.
Art has been a part of my life for decades. In addition to formal training in school, I have enjoyed self study and art exploration. Teaching art to my children and others is a great joy!

You may want to cover your young artist’s work surface and have them dress in clothing appropriate for messy work or wear an apron or smock. *Chalk pastels are available online or at a hobby/art store. They are much softer and more vibrant than school or playground chalk. A simple set of 12 colors or less is plenty for this project and usually cost less than $6 for the set.
