Class Experience
I will be teaching intermediate level art, ideal for junior high aged art students. I always mute my classes but I encourage learners to unmute themselves and ask questions at any point. Learners who take this as an ongoing class will develop as artists over time and learn a variety of drawing skills such as cartooning, rendering, shading, lighting, using pen and ink, pointillism, contour drawing, and pencil drawing I believe in teaching by example. This means that I paint/draw along...
Learners will learn different drawing skills. If you take each class you will learn: Highlight/shadow Different shading techniques Cartoon drawing Realistic drawing Creative thinking Abstract drawing Learners who take multiple classes should emerge from this class as more skilled and confident artists
I will expect learners to do about an hour of drawing homework every week in their sketchbooks
A sketchbook! Pencils (4B, 2B, HB, 2H are ideal) Eraser Fine tipped black felt pens (I use Micron Pens) Coloured Pencils Markers (optional)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will provide personalized, written feedback in the learner area if learners send me their homework. If the learners do not send me their homework I can not provide helpful feedback. I do not like to grade art, but I am happy to provide one if the student requests it.
1 hour 10 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
