Students will learn the elements of art, principles of design, artistic contributions by famous artists, artistic history, creation, and analysis. They will learn how to use: chalk pastel, oil pastel, watercolors, acrylic paint, and mixed media. Students will learn how to create project based art, artistic journaling, and self-led projects. Students will also learn how to present their artwork.
I am excited to be teaching your young artist! I have loved making art through educational training and personal exploration. I believe nobody appreciates art quite like a child. They naturally embrace the creation process.
Homework includes finishing art projects that were started in class and art journal assignments.
A supply list and any printables will be posted in the Classroom for each week.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be working with the following materials that may need supervision: Scissors (please make sure students are seated while using) Small objects (please make sure students do not put objects in their mouth, nose, or ears) Art supplies (please buy non-toxic art supplies-it should be stated on the labels) Art can be messy, you may want to cover your artist's work area and clothing.
