If students do not complete their drawing in the allotted class time they may choose to complete on their own time. I will be showing examples of how to finish their drawing.Assessment
Informal assessment- at the end of the class students will be asked to share their final project with the class. I will ask students "What are you most proud of?" and "What would you work on if you had more time?"Class Experience
In this class learners will create cactus drawing! This is a hands on class where students will be creating the project as I demonstrate. I will be doing a guided drawing of the example. Students will also receive an idea sheet of other cactus shapes. Students can personalize their cactus still life and make choices. Students can choose what kind of background & patterns on the pot. I will show students several examples to help with the brainstorming process! No prior knowledge is needed. Students have the choice of media-markers, watercolor or color pencil will all work for this project. I will be using fine marker & color pencil in my demonstration.

1. Drawing paper: 8.5x11 printer paper is fine 2. Thin black Marker 3. Chosen art media: students can use markers, color pencils or watercolor to finish their artwork

I believe creating art is a process. It takes making a mess, mistakes and trying again! Creating art is a method of communication with the world!
