Students will be introduced to artist George Rodrique, his life, his art style and the story behind the Blue Dog paintings. They will be shown video and/or slides showcasing his artworks. Students will be encouraged to share their thoughts and impressions of the artist and his artwork. Students will then be gently guided to draw their own dog for their masterpiece. Oil pastel techniques and proper care will be discussed as students begin their projects. We will also discuss color...
Supplies - please have ready before class begins drawing or multi media art paper (large is nice for this project and also looks amazing on black paper!) oil pastels (this is a great beginner set) paper towel for cleaning fingers pencil
