Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
Beginner - Advanced Level
Each week, I will present a new prompt at the beginning of class. You'll have 55 minutes to create your art inspired by this prompt. Your work does not have to be confined by any specific medium or style.

~The sky's the limit for what you create and how you create it.~

You can use mediums like paint, pencils, markers, fabric, cameras...
                                        To Make
drawings, paintings, sculptures, photography, doodles, embroidery...

Create your work using your most loved style and medium, but I encourage you to try something new and step out of your artistic comfort zone. I will help you explore these new ideas. I will also help with any familiar or new techniques for your piece.
This will be done through discussion, suggestion, or visual instruction using either my webcam or a document camera that is focused on the table in front of me.

**These prompts will be chosen at random from a list I've compiled. I want everyone to come into class not knowing what to expect the prompt to be each week. This allows for spontaneity in the art made that day.

Some of the prompts we will cover include but are not limited to:
-Flowers growing in a strange and unexpected place
-Items You've Collected
-A Sunset
-Something Vintage
-An Animal
-A Still-Life

In all of my art classes, I use many different styles of learning to help students better understand the lesson or idea. Some of these include Visual, Kinetic, and Auditory.

I will discuss ideas and techniques, show how to do those techniques, and have the student begin working and understanding the technique.

I use a camera facing towards me as I speak, and an additional one pointed at the table in front of me. This allows for a full-coverage learning experience.
