Students will learn about shapes and how to create pieces of art by using shapes. Students will create Darth Vader from Star Wars. Learners will use various shapes in a directed drawing teaching style (Step by Step process) from the teacher. Students will create details that make their work unique and then use colored pencils, crayons, or markers to color in their pictures. We will talk about color techniques including blending colors, value, and the depth of their work of art. This class will be fun but educational, students will gain knowledge and gain confidence in their abilities as an artist. This is an encouraging classroom and no experience is needed. Kids are encouraged to use their individual tastes to create details within the picture that makes it as unique as themselves. All you need is your imagination and the sky is the limit.
Learning Goals
We will talk about art forms and show that art isn't as difficult as you would think with a little imagination. With using art elements such as lines, patterns, and use of color your child will create a masterpiece by the end of class.

Grab some paper, pencil, eraser, black marker, and whatever you would like to color your character with and let's learn something new!
