In this 4-session art camp, students will learn to draw a different winged mythical creature each day: the phoenix, hippogriff, griffin, and winged horse.

4 lessons//1 Week
 Week 1
Lesson 1
Introduction to Mythical Creatures: The Phoenix
Students will learn about the mythology behind the phoenix, and the shapes and colors that make it unique. We will draw, outline and color a beautiful phoenix!
Lesson 2
The Griffin
Students will learn about the features of an eagle and a lion, and how they are combined to create this creature. We will draw, outline, and color a majestic griffin.
Lesson 3
The Hippogriff
Students will learn about the features of an eagle and a horse, and how they are combined to create this creature. We will draw, outline and color a noble hippogriff.
Lesson 4
The Winged Horse (Pegasus)
Students will learn about the features of a winged horse, and how it is featured in mythology. We will draw, outline and color a magnificent winged horse (the most well-known is named Pegasus).
  • Students will learn mythology around four different winged animals.
  • Students will learn how to draw the four different animals.
As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.

Details: Not required, but students are welcome and encouraged to work on assignments and practice further between class sessions.

Details: Informal assessments will take place during class in the form of teacher observation and possible suggestions (as requested by students).

Details: Certificates of Completion will be offered upon parent completion of class feedback. Letter or Number grades will be offered per parent request.
Students will need (for all drawings):
Lots of paper (for praticing as well as final drawings)
Pencil, eraser, sharpener
Ultra Fine Sharpie or similar fine line permanent black marker
Choice of colored pencils, crayons, markers, or watercolor paint, or any combination (I will be using colored pencils).
