This class is for shark lovers! Students will learn facts about sharks AND how to identify and draw different species! In this CAMP version of this popular class, we will meet 5 days in one week of Sharktastic drawing and fact-learning! Session 1: Prehistory of sharks, Introduction to scientific illustration, learn facts about and how to draw Great White Shark. Week 1Lesson 1Introduction to Sharks; Great White SharkStudents will learn the prehistory of sharks, Introduction to scientific illustration, learn facts about and how to draw Great White Shark. Short, fun research assignment will be given at the end of class, to be completed for Friday's class.Lesson 2Bull SharksStudents will learn 1-2 general facts about sharks, review/questions about Great White Shark, learn facts about and how to draw Bull Sharks. Research status check-in: Has a shark or shark-related topic been selected? What are you going to research? I love to draw animals, and I have developed ways to break down the steps to teach kids how to draw animals. I also happen to be married to a "Sharkcyclopedia!" My husband never misses Shark Week, and is incredibly knowledgeable about these amazing predators. Scientific Illustration is the perfect bridge between art and science!
Homework Offered
Not required, but students are welcome and encouraged to work on assignments and practice further between class sessions.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
