ART CAMP: Draw Dynamic Crystals and Geodes

Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this class, your child will complete two to three drawings of crystals and geodes (agate slices). Students are welcome to bring and show any relevant specimens, as well as use them as resources for their own drawings! Session 1: we will look at different types of crystals, crystal clusters, and agate geodes, and begin the step-by-step process of drawing a crystal in pencil.. A discussion and selection of art materials to shade and color the crystals will be discussed and practiced....

As a newly-retired veteran art teacher with over 30 years' experience, I have a strong background in breaking down the drawing or painting process into smaller parts, making it easier for students to understand processes and create successful works of art.
Homework Offered
Not required, but students are welcome and encouraged to work on assignments and practice further between class sessions.Assessments Offered
Informal assessments will take place during class in the form of teacher observation and possible suggestions (as requested by students).Grades Offered
Certificates of Completion will be offered upon successful completion of this course. Letter or Number grades will be offered per parent request.
Paper (Good quality drawing paper or a sketchbook is recommended) pencils, pencil sharpener, eraser Colored pencils (Crayola or Sargent are good brands. My personal favorite is Prismacolor) Markers (student's favorite brand, or whatever you already have, water-based is best) Ultra Fine black Sharpies (or similar fineliners, again, whatever you have or your child prefers) watercolor paint. Crayola or Prang are good brands--stay away from Crazy Art! Optional: salt, glitter, etc. for sprinkling on painted geodes.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
