In this ongoing class we will study a variety of well known art pieces by a variety of artists from all around the world.
Class experience
Each week we will study a new work of art. We will discuss the artist, style, important & interesting parts of the select work and techniques used, among other things. The teacher will show the works of art through pictures, present important and interesting information related to the work and then lead students in an open discussion prompting them to answer a variety of questions and give their own opinions. Students will cultivate an appreciation for art. Students will better understand how to analyze and critique a work of art. Students will learn art related vocabulary and concepts (including but not limited to; techniques, elements of art, principles of art, art movements/time periods, art mediums, etc.).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
